Operation Orders
FRIEND
28 - 1 - 18

1.   RELIEF   The Bn will be relieved by FENCE on the night of 28/29th inst commencing at 7.0 pm.
Companies will be relieved in the following order
      HQ Coy by HQ Coy FENCE.
      D     "     "    C     "     "
      B     "     "    A     "     "
      C     "     "    B     "     "
      A     "     "    D     "     "

2.   GUIDES   1 Guide per Platoon and 1 per Company HQ will report to Bn HQ at 5.30 p.m. and will proceed under Sergt MORTIMER to HQ FENCE.
They will be shewn the billets to be occupied by their platoons and will guide relieving platoons in and their own platoons out.
OC D Company will relieve Anti Aircraft Battery supplied by FENCE at 5.30 p.m.
(Separate Orders have been issued him).
Trenches and billets must be left in a clean and sanitary condition and usual certificates forwarded after relief.

3.   STORES   Companies will hand over as far as possible the stores received from EAR ; and any surplus petrol cans etc will be taken out.
Careful check will be made on stores handed over and lists and copies of receipts will be rendered to HQ immediately after relief.
Works and wiring made will be completed to date by front companies and handed over, copies being brought out.
Gum boots will be handed over in good condition - any wet boots will be returned by Companies early today to Brigade Gumboot Store and a receipt for same obtained and rendered to Bn HQ with stores receipts.

4.   COOKS   One Cook per Company should be sent early to ensure that fires at cookhouses taken over are continued and preparation made for next meal.

5.   HQ   After relief Bn HQ will be at L. 25 . a. 6. 3. and Company HQ as under
      A & B - at - L. 25. b. 55. 53.
      C & D - at - L. 25 central

6.   REPORTS   The completion of reliefs will be wired to Bn HQ as under:-
       D - "DECIDED"
       B - "BEAUTIFUL"
       C - "COMPLETED"
       A - "ARRANGED"
